Super delicious and simple this ‘no bake’ Valentine’s Day treat is a favorite.

So fabulously addictive. Best of all, it’s very fun to create… especially with little helpers.

Make it a family event. The memory will be a cherished Valentine Day tradition! At Huckleberry Hill we enjoy having these treats with hot chocolate, cuddling up and watching The Peanuts…nothing beats Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown and friends for a classic ‘throw-back good time’!

GATHER:

  • 1 bag 16 Pretzel Rods, salted
  • 1 package chocolate, pink or vanilla candy coating or candy coating in fresh strawberry produce section of grocery (this is in a microwave proof tub all prepped for easy melting!) While there pick up some strawberries or dried apricots for dipping!
  • Variety of Sprinkles

Simple Coating Chocolate

Have chocolate chips in your pantry? No need to purchase melting chocolate.

Gather: One 12 Ounce bag chocolate chips of choice. (Dark, semi dark, white…whatever you have on hand.) 2 Tabelspoons plus 2 Teaspoons shortening (measure by exact level measuring spoon).

  1. Place chocolate chips and shortening in medium heat-proof bowl. In separate large heat-proof bowl, put very warm water (100° to 110°F.) to 1-inch depth. Carefully place bowl with chocolate into bowl with water; water should come halfway up side of chocolate bowl.
  2. Stir chocolate and shortening CONSTANTLY with dry rubber scraper until chocolate and shortening are melted and mixture is smooth. *Do NOT get water in bowl with chocolate. (If water cools, replace it with very warm water as directed above; water temperature is important to success). Remove chocolate bowl from inside water bowl.

METHOD:

Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

One pretzel rod at a time, dip your pretzel into your melted candy coating. Drip off excess candy coating.

Sprinkle generously with sprinkles of choice.
