April is a time of celebration and a recall of wonderful memories.
This April 2023 we are celebrating six year year since the launch of Huckleberry Hill. The year 2017 had many, many blessings. This included the publishing year of my first book, The Wild Buck. We also have numerous birthdays, including my BBF in early April, my MIL is also early April. My Big Honey has his birthday at the end of this month. YEAH!!Lots of reasons to eat birthday cake!
My favorite celebration cake was developed by Ruby Selfridge the owner and baker of Ruby Cakes of Monterey, look at this huckleberry cake recipe for inspiration.
We are also busy preparing for the launch of my next book, there will be a celebration in Europe and a launch at Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey, CA. Of course hosted by famous confectionary Carousel Candies. We are finalizing the charity that we will support with the book event. The date of the celebration will be shared and posted soon at the events page.
April 23rd is Nonna’s birthday! She was a beautiful and inspiring person. We miss her dearly, and we make sure to celebrate her memory with lots of positive Sicilian vibes.
“Buon compleanno,” is happy birthday in Italian. However, many Italian’s don’t say this to you on your birthday. Rather, you are wished, “many good wishes.”
Let’s get out the limoncello and toast to Nanna Cathy, “Tanti auguri, many good wishes.”
