- Research the unique climate of a coastal forest.
Why is fog crucial for this unique habitat? Use this link for more information on Pacific Coastal Environments: Science for a Changing World, The Pacific Coastal Fog Project
- Let’s think ahead. In chapter 3 do you think that Molly and Fern will find the Wild Buck? Make a prediction.

-COOKING ON HUCKLEBERRY HILL-

-SWEET ROLLS-
Have fun baking these scrumptious rolls with an adult.
Serves 5
Gather Ingredients:
Frozen (thaw for use) bread dough (if bread dough cannot be found substitute refrigerated pizza dough or biscuit dough)
As desired: small bits of butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, honey, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, nuts, raisins or dried cranberries
Directions:
Preheat over in 350 degrees
Line a baking pan with parchment paper
Roll out dough on a floured surface
Dab pea sized pieces of butter on top of dough
Sprinkle the top of dough with spices, sugars, honey and various toppings
Roll into a ‘snake’ (log shape) and cut into pieces one inch sections
Place rolls a few inches apart on parchment lined baking sheet
Cover with parchment or a clean cloth. Keep in a warm area of the house, let rise until doubled in size (if using biscuit dough skip this step).
Once dough has risen, bake for 30-40 minutes in a 350-degree oven.
Prepare Frosting:
1 cup powdered (confection) sugar
4 TBS milk
1 tsp. good quality vanilla
Combine frosting. Once rolls are removed from oven, drizzle frosting into warm buns.
ENJOY!
